I think we will all live to see the rebirth of coachbuilding, well, except for the Mustang drivers leaving Cars and Coffee. They won’t live to see labor day.
Anyway, this is one of the over-looked promises of electric cars, especially with designs like Tesla’s “skateboard chassis.” Once the drivetrains become commodities, it will mean coachbuilders should be able to license different chassis like they did in the old days before unibody.

The sexy Italian Roadster was a cheap everyman’s car. The wagon looks better than you’d think.
